"YTIA" pronounced "Ya-T-Uh" or "Y-T-Uh" Either way it means the same thing: Youth Transitioning Into Adulthood

At present YTIA  provides workshops, special events, volunteerism, and support services to assist youths transitioning out of foster care.

From DEPENDENCE to INDEPENDENCE

COVID 19

Texans can dial 2-1-1 (option 6) for information on COVID-19 and local community resources on health care, utilities, food, housing and more. Find a testing site. More COVID-19 information.

STAY  SAFE, STAY HOME, WEAR A MASK. While you are staying safe and protecting yourself you can also make a difference in the life of a teen foster youth.  For a $5 donation, you can have your very own "YTIA" mask.  The masks are available in several colors.  Just go to "Make a Difference" under "Contact Us" and make your donation.  Please be sure that we have the correct mailing address.

4P=2G is the key
to successfully transitioning into adulthood

(Pray, plan, prepare, & practice - Grown & gone!)

YTIA is excited to welcome a new year.

Although it seems like "same song, different day" we are hard at work with the creation on new and improved workshops (see more information about out upcoming Scholarship workshop under "Youth Scene") and more fun virtual activities (photos of the winners of our "Gingerbread Train Decorating Contest" are also under "Youth Scene").

We look forward to giving away a few scholarships this coming school year.  The Requirements and Application links are under "Scholarships".

YTIA is determined to fulfill our mission of providing support services to youths who are leaving or who have recently left foster care.  We hope to be a part of the support system for youths.

We are here for YOU!

INSPIRATION  CORNER

God will see you through whatever you are facing.  You only need to seek His guidance, follow His direction and know that He loves you in spite of what you may think.

“Look not every man on his ow things, but every man also on the things of others." Phillippians 2:4

REMEMER TO STAY SAFE AND TO BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS BY WEARING A MASK, WASHING YOUR HANDS OFTEN, AND MAINTAINING A SAFE DISTANCE!

YTIA bridges that gap between foster care and the real world of adulthood.
Between foster care and the real world of adulthood (our communities) there is a gap. A gap that leaves youths unprepared when they exit the system. YTIA bridges the gap from Dependence upon the foster care system to Independence by utilizing an innovative "real world" approach. Youth in the foster care system need to hear and face the truth about life after foster care. YTIA keeps it real.  YTIA seeks to identify youth who want to be prepared when it is time for them to exit the system, desire and are motivated to "make it on their own" and works with them to help ensure they understand what it takes to successfully transition into adulthood and not simply age out of the system.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
YTIA would like to thank all of those who have financially supported us through our fundraising efforts. Because of your generous donations, YTIA has been able to continue assisting youth in and out of the foster care system.  A SPECIAL THANK YOU to those of you who have continued to donate even during this very difficult time.
