"YTIA" pronounced "Ya-T-Uh" or "Y-T-Uh." Either way it means the same thing: Youth Transitioning Into Adulthood.
From Dependence to INDEPENDENCE
Youth aging out of the foster care system need a support team they can utilize and rely upon when they are "on their own." YTIA is that TEAM. YTIA seeks to identify youth who are aging out of the system and want to "make it on their own" and works with them to help ensure they successfully transition into adulthood and not return to be part of the problem but to be part of the solution. YTIA bridges the gap from Dependence upon the foster care system to Independence.
YTIA will participate in "The Big Give SA" on May 6, 2014; learn more by going to "In the News" under the "Welcome" tab. Click here to link to "The Big Give SA" website. http://www.thebiggivesa.org/#npo/youth-transitioning-into-adulthood-ytia
